Conference Attendee Wins a Brand-New Computer!
Like most companies during this economic climate, Comprehensive Consulting CEO Theresa Mills Hinton was debating whether or not to expand her internal staffing.
To Theresa’s surprise, she received an email the very next day. “After hiring a new employee, I received an email from NAWBO informing me that I had won a brand-new computer. I definitely have a guardian angel watching out for me!” she says.
Theresa plans to set up a computer program for her new hire and team members to streamline communication. Theresa notes, “The person I’m hiring now is going to be a quality control advisor and will oversee how we’re treating patients who have acquired brain injuries. Our homecare providers do a lot of traveling and with this new computer, we’ll be able to have contact with people in the field and connect with what they’re doing. With the computer, we can ensure that everyone has access to the same information fairly close to the same time.”
As Secretary of the NAWBO Louisville Board of Directors, Theresa really enjoyed networking at this year’s Women’s Business Conference. “Breaking off into separate groups and learning more about membership and sponsorship committees enabled me to return to my own chapter and bring these best practices back with me,” she says.
Following the conference, Theresa spoke with her communications team regarding “Constant Comment” phone messaging. Rather than relying solely on viral communication, Constant Comment would help engage members with prerecorded messages and comment capabilities. On top of comparing best practices, Theresa felt a real sense of solidarity with other national NAWBO members. “Knowing that other people are sometimes struggling with the same things you are ensures that everything’s okay, you’re just going through normal growing pains and there’s a solution on the other side,” she says.
Theresa is looking forward to the 2011 San Diego WBC and 2012 conference, which her home chapter in Louisville, Kentucky, will host.
