Erin Fuller has served as the executive director for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) since 2002. Since joining NAWBO, she has worked with the U.S. Small Business Administration and both the Senate and House Committees on Small Business regarding business ownership issues. Fuller has been quoted as a source on women’s entrepreneurship and small business in publications including the Washington Post, Fortune Small Business, Los Angeles Times, U.S. News and World Report, and the Chicago Tribune, and was recently featured in a NBC News segment that appeared on 18 affiliates in key media markets nation-wide. She has also been featured on several radio programs.
Prior to joining NAWBO, Fuller served as the executive director of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) Research Foundation and as vice president of CAI’s education department. She has partnered on programs with organizations including: the Fannie Mae Foundation, the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Merck Foundation.
She has consulted for organizations including Dartmouth University’s Koop Institute, the Corporation for National and Community Service, the Latino Council on Alcohol and Tobacco, and the Children’s Defense Fund. She has facilitated a number of workshops on survey and educational program design, and has authored a number of articles that have appeared in national and regional publications.
Fuller received both her undergraduate and master of public administration degrees from American University in Washington, D.C., and also has obtained the certified association executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives. She serves on the board of directors of the national Center for Association Leadership, the editorial board of the Journal of Association Leadership, and the executive board of the American University Alumni Association.
She also serves on the Women Under Forty Political Action Committee (WUFPAC) advisory board, the Wells Fargo Strategic Women’s Advisory Board, and the National Women’s History Museum advisory board.
