Best Practice: Succession Plan

Goal: To ensure consistent leadership for a number of years, NAWBO Columbus added another position onto their Board of Directors.
Implementation: NAWBO Columbus added a first Vice President position to their Board enabling four years of consistent leadership. The first Vice President becomes President-Elect, the President-Elect becomes President, and the President becomes the Immediate Past President. The Chapter's three-year strategic plan is therefore created with the input from the leaders who will need to buy into the plan for it to succeed.
Results: By adding an additional Board position, the Chapter ensures that there is consistency in their leadership for a number of years. This saves both time and energy for all that are involved.
