Best Practice: New member recruitment meeting

Goal: At their New Member Recruitment Meeting during March, NAWBO Lakeland offers numerous incentives to potential members in an attempt to encourage them to join.
Implementation: March is Recruitment Month and NAWBO Lakeland goes all out to encourage women to join their chapter. The chapter offers a free lunch, and even waives the local chapter sign-up fee. NAWBO Lakeland is able to provide a lunch thanks to our corporate bank sponsors. The chapter leverages their bank sponsors to 'donate' the cost of lunch for up-to-30 guests. The “guests” consist of the members that join on the spot at the meeting. The chapter also offers a gift to the member who has brought the most guests. To add to the excitement of the meeting, the National President or another National Board member is the guest speaker.
Results: NAWBO Lakeland has discovered that their New Member Recruitment Meeting is quite successful. Their combination of corporate partners, national president, and member participation brings a large amount of individuals together that will hopefully join their chapter.
