Hundreds of Women Business Owners Are Now Powering Their Dream

Inspired last week by the NAWBO Women’s Business Conference (WBC) held in Chicago, more than 500 women business owners from the U.S. and overseas are now fueled to return to their businesses and power their dreams.

Whether they were motivated by brilliant keynote speakers, fabulous networking or simply by being in the presence of so many women who can relate to their challenges, feedback from attendees was excellent. Here are some of the major highlights:

• the installation of NAWBO National’s new board of directors and Chair Wendy Lopez
• the recognition of OfficeMax as National Corporate Partner of the Year; Marilyn Bushey, Growing by Design, as NAWBO Lifetime Award recipient; Lisa Pierce, Alpha & Omega Courier and Delivery, as Woman Business Owner of the Year; and Diane Sears, DiVerse Media LLC, as Member of the Year
• brainstorming and best practices through chapter roundtables at NAWBO Day as well as leadership inspiration from Marilyn Johnson, VP of Market Development at IBM
• motivation from author and organizational design expert Peter Walsh, who encouraged business owners to set goals and picture their ideal life, along with author Suzy Welch, who equipped women business owners to weigh decisions in a new way with her 10-10-10 strategy
• access to a wide range of experts with fantastic tools and insight for women business owners
