Steering Committee Nomination Timeline

1. The call for nominations will be issued electronically to all chapters. Typically the call for nominations will occur by the 2nd week in January and will close by the end of January.
2. Once the nomination closes, the submitted nomination forms will be vetted by staff and application forms distributed to the eligible nominees. Typically, the application forms would be sent by the close of the 1st week in February.
3. Typically the candidates will have the 2nd and 3rd weeks of February to complete the application form and return it electronically to the Staff.
4. The application forms are distributed to the Nominating Sub-committee. Application forms will typically be reviewed during the 1st week of March .
5. The sub-committee submits the application forms of eligible nominees electronically for review and comment by the Steering Commitee (SC); staff is copied. Typically the sub-committee review will be completed by the 2nd week of March.
6. The sub-committee Chair requests agenda time from the SC for approval of the ballot of nominees. Typically approval is complete by the last week of March.
7. Upon the SC approval of the ballot, the nominees’ head shots and their application forms are made available to the Presidents Assembly for an electronic vote. Typically balloting closes by the 2nd week of April.
8. Staff will tabulate the votes and notify the Chair of the sub-committee. Typically the staff should have tabulated the results by the 3rd week in April.
9. If a tie occurs, the sub-committee reviews the composition of the resulting SC to make a recommendation to the SC Chair. The Chair then casts the tie-breaking vote. This would typically occur in the 4th week of April .
10. The staff submits the results to the SC for announcement prior to May 1.
