Greetings! Letter from our 2017 NAWBO Atlanta President, Lissa Versteegh

Letter from the President

As 2017 begins, your NAWBO Atlanta Board has already been hard at work.  We look forward to serving all of you throughout this year to help you grow both personally and professionally.

NAWBO was originally founded to positively impact legislation and make business conditions more favorable for women business owners.  Today we continue to work to that end and are fortunate enough to be in Georgia, the fastest growing state in the nation for women owned businesses.

We also realize that locally, we must provide an atmosphere of value to allow you to invest your time, which is in high demand. As a result, our priority focus for 2017 is Engagement.  We’ve spoken with many of you and encourage each of you to share with our Board what matters most to you.

Based on your valuable input to date, your 2017 Board has 3 primary focuses:

  • Provide you with opportunities to grow your business – through educational, and networking opportunities, access to national/local programs, and forums.
  • Provide a support system of ‘authentic’ relationship based on trust, shared experiences, and reliability.
  • Provide each of you with access to distinctive resources provided by NAWBO that uniquely benefit women business owners of all sizes.

Please know we can’t do this without you!  Your incoming Board is a committed group of strong and intentional woman and we need your help.  Please plan to get involved, join a committee, attend events, and speak up.  With all of us working together, 2017 promises to be a powerful year for each of us!  Here’s to Engagement and Success!!!

Warm Regards,
Lissa Versteegh, NAWBO Atlanta President

We just launched our new site mid-year of 2016. We are very excited about this improvement! It will help you find all your NAWBO events, news, and offerings in one spot.

The site will allow you to connect to both our portals; the membership portal ( and the event registration portal for local events ( While we know it's a bit of a nuisance, you will need to jot down your login credentials for each site in order to access your membership management and your event registrations. To make it easy, you can always change your credentials for each so that they are the same, but you will still need to access the two portals separately for each action need.
