KEYNOTE SPEAKER
NAWBO Chicago' s Achievement Luncheon historically attracts more than 500 attendees each year. One reason for this exceptional turnout - the high quality of our keynote speakers. In the past, we have been fortunate to feature women of note such as Oprah Winfrey, USA Network Founder Kay Koplovitz, and Enron whistleblower Lynn Brewer. We will continue this tradition of providing the best to our stakeholders by proudly announcing our 2017 keynote speaker, Melody Spann Cooper.
Melody Spann Cooper is Chairman of Midway Broadcasting Corporation, a best-in-class African-American owned media boutique whose properties include radio and interactive platforms. The two properties combine to provide niche programming to Chicago’s thriving Black and Hispanic populations. As Chairman of Midway Broadcasting Corporation, she joined an elite list of America’s female broadcast owners after purchasing the company’s controlling interest in 1999.
