Each month a member presents her business while attendees are encouraged to share their own stories and ask questions both in the Connect meeting and afterwards. There is plenty of time to network before and after the presentation, so plan to join the active dialogue around the monthly topic and other topics brought to the meeting.

    The NAWBO Boardroom Exchange, which offers a forum for established women business owners to exchange ideas, socialize and gain peer support, is opening its doors to new members.

    Member candidates must be NAWBO members, and own businesses that: do not compete with other members; are at least seven years old, and have overhead expenses such as employees, rent, etc.

    The group typically meets for dinner on the first Thursday of every other month at 5:30 pm at the East Bank Club.

    New member LaManda Joy, President of City Grange, will showcase her business. LaManda teaches people how to grow food and community. She travels around the country teaching, speaking and inspiring people to use food gardening and cooking as a means to greater joy, better nutrition and stronger communities. In April, 2019 she opened the nation’s first education-based garden center called City Grange in Chicago, with planned expansion in Evanston in 2021.
