A Word from our President
March is Women's History Month. A month where we honor female business leaders and trailblazers who have paved the way for women. The #1 reason I joined NAWBO is because of the Woman's Business Ownership Act, H.R. 5050. This historic legislation that was passed into law 30 years ago included:
  • Erasing the need for a male relative or husband to co-sign a business loan,
  • Establishing the Women's Business Center (WBC) program,
  • Creating the National Women's Business Council (NWBC), and
  • Requiring the Census Bureau to include women-owned c-corporations, which expanded research beyond the self-employed and into bigger women-owned businesses.
I wanted to be apart of something great, not just a networking organization where I could pass out business cards. Because of NAWBO, ALL women business owners have better opportunities to grow their business. Read his white paper on H.R. 5050, the law that changed everything for women business owners.
