Advocacy Days 2020

We are looking forward to your participation in our virtual Advocacy Days and will provide you with updates and links once you register.
*All registrants will receive links to the sessions that can be recorded

Registration Cost: $45 suggested
Registration for the virtual Advocacy Days will be a gift of $45, in honor of NAWBO’s 45th anniversary and the visionary women who founded the organization.   Your gift allows NAWBO to continue our important work of making women’s voices heard. We can continue the legacy and build a foundation for future generations of women business owners.

Virtual Advocacy Days Activities:

Straight Talk with Your Elected Officials - May 18th @ 12pm EST (30 mins)

We will kick off Advocacy Day activities with a training session on master tips for making sure you are a go-to recommendation to testify at any level of government (local, state and federal). During this session, participants will learn how to prepare written testimony and oral statements, proper etiquette for answering member questions, and preparing for the experience itself.

Using Your Voice - May 20th @ 12pm EST (45 mins)

2020 NAWBO members will hear from Katie Vliestra Wonnenberg and Baylee Anderson on how to talk with their legislators. This session will provide you with the information that you need to have an effective conversation with your legislator during Advocacy Day and beyond.

Briefing: U.S. Small Business Committee Briefings - June 2nd @ 12pm EST (2 hours)

NAWBO members will have the unique opportunity to hear from Members of the House and Senate Committees on Small Business and Entrepreneurship and their staff. During this session, Members will discuss their work and roles within their committees and provide pertinent Committee updates related to small business and entrepreneurship. There will be time for NAWBO members to ask questions.

Phone calls with NAWBO members and Congressional offices These will be scheduled calls between NAWBO members and Members of Congress and their staff. Please note that you must register by Wednesday, May 27 in order to facilitate the scheduling of a call with your congressional representatives.
