Plan to join your fellow NAWBO members in Washington, D.C. on June 4, which marks the centennial anniversary of Congress passing the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote. The day will be a commemoration of past milestones, an assessment of where we are today and an outline of how to pursue accomplishments still to come. This year's NAWBO National Advocacy Day will include a reception on Capitol Hill the evening of June 4 so, make your travel plans accordingly.

NAWBO’s annual Advocacy Day provides you with the opportunity to:

  • Learn about and weigh in on the issues impacting your businesses
  • Share and discuss best advocacy practices with fellow NAWBO members
  • Ensure that your voice is heard with decision makers in Congress and the President's Administration
  • Meet with key leaders from both political parties for the opportunity to start or strengthen your connections with the people elected and appointed to serve you.

Attire: The dress code is business casual except for the reception Monday evening which is business dress attire.  **If you are attending Advocacy Day, PLEASE WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES. The day requires a lot of walking. ** We also encourage you to wear PURPLE on Advocacy Day if you like. The combination of red plus blue will be a way to show our bipartisan focus.

Meals: For Advocacy attendees, breakfast, lunch and snacks are included in your registration fee.  For dinner, you will be on your own to make your plans to see more of Washington, D.C.

Weather: Weather averages show highs in the lower 80s and lows in the 60s.

Other Important Information: As you prepare for our Advocacy Day, please keep in mind that security in and around the White House and U.S. Capitol complexes is similar to that of getting on an airplane.
