NAWBO-MN President's Message from Mary Nutting, President:

CLICK HERE for a personal message from Mary Nutting, NAWBO-MN President.
With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and the rising concern over social distancing, I thought I would address NAWBO MN’s response to this situation. As women business owners, we prepare for everything—sales, capital, competition, hiring, retiring and more. Still, unexpected things come up that are simply out of our control. Enter Covid-19.
It is inevitable that our programming efforts will be impacted by this pandemic. In fact, the April Corporate Series Lunch & Learn on Diversity & Inclusion with Cargill will be cancelled and we will reschedule.
Our organization exists to provide support and development to our women business owner community and there has never been a more critical time to stay focused on this mission than now. I would like to remind you that there is a tremendous amount of virtual content available through the national website. I encourage you to use the time you may have in your home or office to consider taking advantage of the numerous webinars as well as the online virtual university to ‘stay connected’ and to help you build on your business and leadership skills and experience. I would also like to remind all of us to keep each other in mind when recommending product and/or service offerings to our network. Let’s help each other get and retain more business during these tumultuous times.
On a more positive note, I am extremely excited to tell you about some BIG and positive changes that are happening with our Board. As many of you know, Nicole Anthony had been inducted as our President-Elect to take over as President in July of this year. Unfortunately, there have been some business and personal changes for Nicole and she has decided to step down from this role. However, I am extremely pleased to announce that effective immediately, Julie Kimble has stepped into the President-Elect role. To promote continuity with our goals and accomplishments, I will lengthen my term through the end of this year. Julie will assume the President’s role 1/1/2021. Going forward, our officer roles will align on a calendar year basis.
We took this change as an opportunity to focus on a long-term succession plan that we will be rolling out during our annual meeting scheduled for June. Stay tuned for future updates and communication. For those of you who do not know Julie, I am eager and proud to share more.
