As we emerge from 2020 with a vaccine and a new way of looking at the world, many of us are ready to re-join our lives. With this in mind, NAWBO’s Phoenix chapter is creating an event-filled year that embraces curiosity, diversity, great friendships, and relationships. We are also re-charging our mentoring program for those looking to level up their businesses.
NAWBO Happy Hours
We are adding happy hours to the mix and intertwining them with our business programs. This creates an ideal environment for developing new relationships with other businesswomen of all ages. Our first Happy Hour was last week and sold out. It was at Fogo de Chao in Scottsdale and it was a blast.
Upcoming Speakers
To satisfy our curiosity, programming is working on attracting speakers that are provocative with fascinating stories.
Kari Lake - Candidate for AZ Governor
On September 8, we will be hosting the first program & lunch of the season by welcoming veteran newscaster, Kari Lake, who walked away from mainstream media to challenge the institution. She is also running for governor and offers a glimpse into the current state of journalism and what drives her to make a difference.
Lilach Mazor Power - Giving Tree Dispensary Owner
In our November 10th program, we will be featuring Lilach Mazor Power, who has the top woman-owned dispensary in Arizona. A former member of the Israeli military, she founded Giving Tree Dispensary. Since opening in 2013, her 15,000 square foot dispensary of cultivation and extraction, fuels both retail and wholesale sales.
Jean Briese - Outgoing NAWBO President
The gala on October 13th features the work of outgoing president Jean Briese, and her tireless work in educating local women business owners on PPP, other government funding, and grants. It also showcases the new, bold board of directors and the direction we are heading as we finish 2021 and usher in 2022. Planning is in the works for our holiday party, also an evening event, slated for Dec 8th. Both events will have built-in happy hours.
Ronit Urman - Former NAWBO President
The mentoring program is run by former NAWBO President, Ronit Urman, who runs Urman Enterprises, a commercial real estate firm that focuses on three primary areas: finance, marketing, and communication. There are two in-depth sessions each month: one that features a guest speaker and one that is a moderated mastermind that deals with individual business challenges and best practices. While the program is open to all women, NAWBO members get a substantial discount.
