Meet Dr. Yas: New NAWBO member offering…

Not just a prescription but an education that lasts a lifetime.

Dr. Yasaman Tasalloti takes a combination of conventional and natural medicine and puts it to work by helping patients managing chronic health conditions such as insomnia, digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances, and mood dysfunction.

“Early in my career, I became fascinated by the emerging field of psychoneuroimmunology- how the brain, mind and immune system are interconnected and affect various health conditions,” she said.

Dr. Tasalloti has had her own concierge-style practice for two years after working with a variety of experts in the medical field. She learned that she wanted to nurture patients her way and create a practice that incorporated solutions for the mind, body and spirit.

According to Dr. Tasalloti, by providing individualized care and addressing the underlying cause of disease, great results can be achieved. “ I truly believe that it is possible for every patient to achieve the greatest level of health if they choose the appropriate treatment options and they are willing to take a leading role in their health care journey,” she said.

Dr. Tasalloti graduated from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe and received extensive medical training in both conventional and traditional medicine. Naturopathic physicians train in alternative and holistic therapies, as well as the traditional four-year medical program. “I think divine intervention drew me to this particular type of medicine,” she said. “I was always interested in medicine but once I stumbled on this, it really clicked and I dove in.”

Using these naturopathic methods, Dr. Tasalloti finds most of her patients are able to phase out their prescriptions under her care.

Dr. Tasalloti likes to begin her sessions with patients by having them answer the question, “Why is optimal health so important to me?”

“Health gives us access to everything in life,” she said. “It allows us to understand our higher purpose, be connected with the creator and pursue the life we were meant to live.” She added that there is “way too much pain and suffering in our society.”

Dr. Tasalloti, who is originally from the New York area, moved here six years ago and fell in love with the Southwest desert landscape. When she isn’t working she loves social dancing, hiking and enjoying the outdoors. She hopes to travel to exotic locals like Costa Rica, New Zealand, and Bali.

Her favorite “guilty pleasure” is all things chocolate.
