NAWBO National Endorses Barbara Comstock for Congress

(Washington, D.C. September 26, 2016)—The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is announcing its endorsement of Barbara Comstock in her bid for re-election to Congress from Virginia’s 10th District.

NAWBO National screens candidates for endorsement solely on their history of business ownership or their voting record demonstrating their consistent support of business owners.

“NAWBO was founded 41 years ago to serve as an advocacy organization for all women business owners.  Today NAWBO is proud to endorse federal candidates who understand and support the integral role that women business owners play in our economy,” said Teresa Meares, NAWBO National Board Chair.  “Barbara understands the challenges and opportunities facing small business owners and will continue to work with NAWBO to give women the resources and tools they need to start and grow businesses.  We are pleased to announce our endorsement of Barbara Comstock and look forward to working with her on behalf of our members and all women business owners.”

Additional endorsements will be made by NAWBO prior to the November 8 general election.  In 2014, 94% of the candidates NAWBO National endorsed were elected.

“I am pleased once again to be endorsed by NAWBO – a leading women’s business organization committed to the advancement of businesswomen,” said Congresswoman Comstock.  “The voters of the 10th Congressional District have a clear choice this election.  I have been a leader in Virginia and a small businesswoman myself who has been working on pro-growth, entrepreneurial, low-regulation, and free enterprise policies that help women owned businesses thrive and increase job growth and wages. As a freshman legislator in Congress, I have already been selected to Chair the subcommittee on Research and Technology which allows me to serve our growing technology sector where women need to have the opportunities to grow.   I have been endorsed by a broad bipartisan group of business leaders in the 10th District, as well as all of the major business groups such as the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and supported by the Realtors Association, and the National Home Builders Association among others.”
