NAWBO National Endorses Beto O’Rourke for U.S. Senate

O’Rourke joins a growing list of candidates supported by NAWBO National.

Washington, D.C. —The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is announcing its endorsement of U.S. Representative Beto O’Rourke in his bid for U.S. Senate in Texas.

“Representative O’Rourke’s entrepreneurial spirit highlights one of the many qualities that brought him to NAWBO National’s attention,” explains Molly Gimmel, NAWBO National Board Chair. “As a bipartisan organization, we truly value members of Congress who work across the aisle and bring legislation across the finish line. His work on behalf of business owners continues to lower the barriers to entry for small business owners, giving them the opportunity to achieve success.”

"All across Texas, small businesses form the backbone of our communities and our economy," said Representative O'Rourke. "As a former small business owner, I am grateful to have the endorsement of NAWBO, an organization that is helping women-owned businesses create jobs, promote economic development, and ensure that our economy works for everyone. In the Senate, I will stand up for small businesses and work every single day to help ensure that everyone who wants a job can work a job that allows them to live to their full potential."

NAWBO National considers candidates for endorsement after they have won their primary. The selection of candidates is based solely on their history of business ownership or their voting record demonstrating their consistent support of business owners. Additional endorsements will be made by NAWBO prior to the November 6th general election.
