NAWBO National Endorses Susan Brooks For Congress

Brooks joins a list of candidates supported by NAWBO National.

Washington, D.C. —The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is announcing its endorsement of U.S. Representative Susan Brooks in her bid for re-election in Indiana’s 5th District.  The NAWBO Indianapolis chapter hosted an event this week with Congresswoman Brooks to celebrate the announcement.

“Throughout her years in public service, Congresswoman Brooks has been a consistent supporter of women business owners with focuses on jobs, health and education,” explains Molly Gimmel, NAWBO National Board Chair.  “During her time in Congress she has been working to address important issues including women’s economic empowerment and retirement enhancement in a bipartisan manner.  We are proud to endorse her bid for re-election.”

"As we celebrate National Women's Small Business Month this October, it is an honor to have earned the endorsement of the NAWBO." said Brooks. "When women lead, they not only make businesses more profitable, but businesses led by women tend to have more women at the top. Organizations like NAWBO are so important because they encourage more Hoosier women to not only take risks and get involved, but to lead today and in the years to come. I'll continue work in Congress to support women in leadership and business, to help businesses grow and thrive, and to be an advocate for Hoosiers."

“NAWBO Indianapolis is proud of our strong working relationship with the Congresswoman and her staff.  As our bipartisan by design policy espouses, we look for public servants/elected officials from both political parties with whom we can work together on behalf of our members.  In Susan Brooks we have found just such a partner,” says Jessica Nickloy, President of NAWBO Indianapolis.

NAWBO National considers candidates for endorsement after they have won their primary. The selection of candidates is based solely on their history of business ownership or their voting record demonstrating their consistent support of business owners. Additional endorsements will be made by NAWBO prior to the November 6 general election.
