Dear NAWBO,

Our Chicks with Sticks Golf Event was our best year ever!  We doubled in size and attendance.  A big thanks to our chair Janice Boes, Pierpont Place, to River Oaks Golf Course who donated golf lessons to the losing team and of course to our amazing sponsors who provided over $40,000 in gifts and prizes for our attendees.  Mark your calendar for next year so you don't miss out - it's slated again for Wednesday August 28th - and if you don't want to golf come join us for lunch only and get in on some of the fun and prize drawings.

As our biggest fund raiser of the year, this success will allow us to educate and support women in a big way this coming year.

And speaking of education - did you know the Equal Rights Amendment has never been passed in enough states to be ratified?

Whether you are for or against the Equal Rights you should be informed.  Come see the documentary EQUAL MEANS EQUAL.  Read more below.

Hope to see you next week.

Did you know?

The proposed Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) states that the rights guaranteed by the Constitution apply equally to all persons regardless of their sex.............

In 1972 Congress passed the ERA Constitutional Amendment and sent it to the states for ratification.  With overwhelming bi-partisan support in both the House and Senate it was on track to be one of the quickest amendment to the constitution until it hit a snag.  Ultimately it was not ratified because it was not passed by enough states.  A constitutional amendments requires 2/3's of the states to pass it to be ratified.

Today we only need 1 more state to pass it!

You can make a difference.  Come learn more.  As we approach the mid-term election season, it's more important than ever for women to be educated on the issues and participate in their communities.

Join us for dinner and a movie.

This documentary is an unflinching look at how women are treated in the United States today.  Director Kamala Lopez reveals the inadequacy of present laws and ultimately presents a compelling and persuasive argument for the urgency of ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment.

Thanks to Bank of America and Merrill Lynch this dinner and movie screening is free but seating is limited so get registered now!  At the time of this printing only 37 seats remained.

Can you attend?  YES

National Women's Business Conference

September 23-25, 2018
Spokane, Washington

This year's theme is "Work Well, Live Well." As women entrepreneurs, our lives are a journey, never a destination. We run successful businesses and households, give back to our communities, advocate for causes we care most about and nurture other life passions. We are constantly focusing, refocusing, pushing, pausing, inventing, reinventing, stretching and balancing-and growing every step of the way along the many paths we take. Join your NAWBO community as we embrace this exciting journey together to "work well, live well"!

  • Whether you're looking for a job or building your business, networking is of vital importance in this world.  You are more likely to sign a contract with a new client, based on who you know, rather than what you know.  People do business with individuals and businesses they know, like, and trust.
