Directors & Officers Insurance (D&O)

All NAWBO chapters are required to carry Directors and Officers Liability Insurance offered by NAWBO or another carrier. The NAWBO program seeks to provide chapters with benefits of a group discount by pooling our resources together. D&O policies are designed to provide protection for the association and individuals against claims for “wrongful acts” allegedly committed by them in performing their duties. In addition to providing coverage for directors and officers, the policy’s definition of “Insured” is broad enough that it covers trustees, employees, volunteers, committee members and the association itself.

In July of each year, Chapter Services will make outreach to the chapters to ascertain your interest in participating in the NAWBO D&O Insurance Program. Once it is determine how many chapters will be participating we will then be able to determine the cost.  

In order to participate, chapters are required to submit the D&O Response Form with payment during the month of August. All chapters participating in the NAWBO D&O Insurance program and have paid the premium in full will receive a copy of the policy and a certificate of Insurance during the month of September.
